I have had a very painful foot due to a deep blister on my bunion. These shoes are very comfortable in the width. Because of the bunions I need the extra wide fitting but my ankles are slim so I could do with a slightly longer piece of vecro fastening on the strap to make the shoe secure. My measurements come out as a 7 6V but a previous purchase was not a brilliant fit. I spoke to a very helpful lady in customer services who recommended I try the 8 2v based on my actual measurements. I bought these & a pair of trainer style and they are both really good fit. I also purchased them in the sale so they are very good value for money.

Generally I am a size 4 shoe and I always take a 6V or EEE fitting. When I looked at the Welland shoe there was not a size 4 available, only a size 3 so I thought I would try it because sometimes the shoes with the square toes do tend to come up slightly bigger.
I was in luck and the shoe did fit although there is not really enough depth to the toe box area to insert my orthotics as my toes will rub.
The only other comment that I will make is the strap which you use to fix the shoe in place and where the velcro has been placed. I had so much strap that I needed to cut off that there was not any velcro left to attach it to! I have had to improvise and luckily for me I had some tiny round velcro sticky pads that I had purchased from Lidl (years ago) and I have used about 4 of these on the strap that I have left. Otherwise I would not have been able to fix them. So warning - if you don't have particularly swollen feet or incredibly large ankles - do bear this in mind that you will need another method for fixing the cross-over strap.
Otherwise so far I think these shoes will do me just fine but I have not really worn them that much just yet so time will tell.

so sorry to give a bad review - because they are lovely shoes - I wrote to company with my views but have not yet (1 month) had a reply - shoes excellent quality - if the only problem is extra wide feet I know they are excellent, but if you are between sizes width wise not so good - When I did the strap up it came down last my sole which would have meant I would be walking on the strap - so I cut is as per instructions - but then there wasn't enough Velcro to fasten them securely so my husband had to stick some more Velcro onto what was left of the strap. I would of much preferred to speak to the company about my problem's but after purchasing 2 pairs of shoes and unfortunately wasting nearly £200 I have now given up.
